17/12/2018Baseball Standard

It’s really hard to decide which are the best baseball teams in the world since all of them participate in their own national leagues, but we’ve compiled a list of well-known teams that have made quite a name for themselves. Read on to find out which teams we consider the best of the best.

New York Yankees

This well-known American baseball team barely needs any introduction. They’ve won an amazing 27 World Series titles since their establishment in 1903. You’ll find that the majority of New Yorkers have sworn their allegiance to this team because they’re based in New York’s borough of the Bronx. This amazing team is always a pleasure to watch.

Boston Red Sox

This is another American team based in Boston, MA. The Boston Red Sox have won 9 World Series titles, and have a long-standing rivalry with the aforementioned NY Yankees. This is the toughest and longest rivalry in any professional sport since the dawn of time, and you’d do well to follow up on their matchups.

Los Angeles Dodgers

Los Angeles Dodgers are an American team based in Los Angeles, CA that have won 6 World Series titles. They originally started out in Brooklyn, NY, and were known as the Robins. One very notable fact about them is that they’re the first team to employ an African-American player — an important event in the history of the American Civil Rights Movement. They’re also the second oldest team on this list, as they’ve been in the game since 1883.

St. Louis Cardinals

St. Louis Cardinals are the last US team we’re gonna list. They’re based in St. Louis, MO, and have won 11 World Series championships, putting their trophy count just behind the New York Yankees. They’re also the oldest team on this list, established in 1882. Their home stadium is the Busch Stadium in downtown St. Louis.

Tokyo Yomiuri Giants

Tokyo Yomiuri Giants is a Japanese professional baseball team based in Bunkyo, Tokyo. They play their home games in the venerable Tokyo Dome, the center of all the greatest sports events in Japan. The Giants were established in 1934, and have won 22 Japan Series championships. Their name and uniforms were inspired by the New York Giants.

Hanshin Tigers

Hanshin Tigers are also from Japan and are based in Koshien, Nishinomiya. They were established in 1935, and since then, they’ve had a rivalry with the Tokyo Giants. The people of Osaka and Tokyo have had a long-standing rivalry since the ancient times, and now they continue it through baseball. Any match between these two is surely fun to watch. The Tiger’s home field is the Hanshin Koshien Stadium, one of the largest in Japan.
